Program Overview:

This webinar will delve into the intricate relationship between financial assets and estate planning. Working with clients to effectively coordinate financial assets can assure that value is maximized and asset protection is enhanced. The webinar will review strategies to coordinate estate planning with various types of financial assets, including investments, real estate, retirement accounts, insurance, and other assets. We will discuss how to align financial assets with estate planning objectives.

  • Clarify estate planning essentials: Revocable Trust, Will, Powers of Attorney
  • Review various financial assets and how different types of assets are best coordinated with an estate plan
  • Identify techniques to ensure effective coordination of financial assets

Mary E. Vandenack, JD, ACTEC, CAP®, COLPM®, AEP® (Distinguished) is a partner at Duggan Bertsch managing the Omaha, Nebraska office. Mary is a highly regarded practitioner in the areas of tax, trusts and estates, private wealth planning, asset protection planning, business and business succession planning, and philanthropic strategies. Mary also has expertise in mental health law and professional licensing.

 

Mary’s practice serves businesses and business owners, executives, real estate developers and investors, health care providers, companies in the financial industry, and tax-exempt organizations. Mary is a member of the American Bar Association Real Property Trust and Estate Section where she serves on Council.  Mary is a member of the American Bar Association Law Practice Division where she currently serves as Chair.  Mary has been named to ABA LTRC Distinguished Women of Legal Tech, received the James Keane Award for e-lawyering, and serves on ABA Standing Committee on Information and Technology Systems.

Continuing Education Credit

Continuing education credit is available at most webinars for Accredited Estate Planner® designees.  In addition, a general certificate of completion will be available for those who feel the program satisfies their continuing education requirements and are able to self-file.  It is the responsibility of the attendee to determine whether their state, discipline, or designation will allow one to self-file for a distance-learning program.  Please contact webinars@naepc.org prior to attending your first program if you have any questions with regard to the availability of credit.
